Tonight: Hot Music on Charles Street

Tonight (Tuesday the 7th) counteract the cold with Andy Statman and Jim Whitney - 9 PM at 53 Charles Street (the entire trio performs on Thursday, same time and place).  Herman will no doubt pour some warming antidotes to the Polar Vortex.

Anniversary Week at Charles Street

December 11th 1999 was the date of the first Andy Statman concert at the Charles Street Synagogue.  We'll bookend the 14th anniversary of our residency with performances on Tuesday the 10th and Thursday the 13th, both at 9 - the trio on Tuesday and (at least!) two of us on Thursday.

Congratulations Grammy Nominee Tim O'Brien!

On Friday, our good friend Tim O'Brien (featured, along with Michael Cleveland, on our new album "Superstring Theory") was nominated (with Darrell Scott) for a 2014 Grammy in the category of "Best American Roots Song".  We wish them a heartfelt traditional American roots-y Mazel Tov!

Celebrate Herman's 80th on December 5th

Today we observe the Festival of Lights, the Festival of Fressing and the 80th Birthday of our dear friend, genial host and chief cook and bottle pourer Herman Lowenhar. We'll have a special concert and birthday party for Herman next Thursday, December 5th upstairs in the sanctuary of the Charles Street Synagogue - please join us! Music at 8:30.
