The Andy Statman Trio begins to wrap up the winter season at Charles Street - the trio performs Tuesday, 26 February and Andy and Jim play a duo performance on Thursday, 28 February.  Music starts at 9.

Will Holshouser, Tuesday 5 February

Box squeezer Will Holshouser (or Wesleyan Will, as he's known to...well, no one, really) joins Andy Statman and Larry Eagle at Charles Street on Tuesday 5 Feb at 9.  Last time these three got together they turned one of Andy's tunes into sort of a trad klezmer video - see it here.

Charles Giordano returns to Charles Street

Walking, talking Beatles encyclopedia Charles Giordano returns to Charles Street Tuesday night 27 January to squeeze some accordion with the Andy Statman Trio. Music will start a bit later than usual - probably a little after 9. 

(btw - at 7:30 that same evening, our friend, plectrum banjo-ist Cynthia Sayer will have her record release party at Joe's Pub.  The album - Joyride - features a cover of one of Andy's tunes - hear it here.  The Joe's Pub show will feature Jim, Larry, Charles and maybe even Andy - if you feel like making it a double-header, come on down!)

This week: Charles Street/Michael Daves

The Andy Statman Trio appears Tuesday night 22 January at Charles Street, and again on Thursday the 24th - but on Thursday we add the magnificent vocalocity and pickage of the marvelous Michael Daves.  Music begins both evenings promptly and precisely at exactly the time we get around to it, usually sometime roughly around 9ish.

This week: Brooklyn X2 - Thursday AND Saturday

We'll be at Barbés in Brooklyn this Thursday (17 January) at 8PM - our friends Union Street Preservation Society follow at 10.
Saturday night at 8:30:  a new/old venue - the Jewish Music Café in their new location - 659 Sackett Street, 11215.

Mike Auldridge

Back in October, Andy had the chance to reconnect with dobro master Mike Auldridge when both were presented with NEA National Heritage Fellowships in Washington DC - here's a video clip of their performance at the concert commemorating the honor.

There's a fine piece on today's Washington Post website about Mike's life and work.
